In short
Granny Slags is free to join: making a profile and browsing cost nothing. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership, which renews automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, every photo is reviewed, what members write is not checked, and members must be 18 or over.

Three steps, and the first two are free
Granny Slags works in three stages: you make a profile, you look around, and when you want to talk properly you pay for a membership. The first two cost nothing and have no time limit.

Step one: make your profile
Sign up in the members area with an email address, a password and your date of birth. You must be 18 or over. Some sign-ups are asked to verify their identity before they can carry on, for example if you join through a VPN or the account is flagged; otherwise ID checks are optional.
Then add a photo and a few lines about yourself. Every photo is reviewed, and nudity and lingerie shots aren't allowed, which suits a site where first impressions are about personality. The profile also has fields for who you're looking for, the age range and distance you're interested in, and details such as languages, children, smoking and drinking.
Write the way you'd talk: what you enjoy, what kind of casual you have in mind, and roughly where you are. An example, offered as an example only: "Recently retired, back on the dating scene and not looking for a husband. I like long lunches, good conversation and someone who can make me laugh." Leave out your surname, address and workplace.
Step two: look around
Browsing costs nothing, so take your time. Read profiles properly, notice who writes like a real person, and be wary of anyone whose profile is all compliments and no detail.
Remember what is and isn't checked. Photos are reviewed. What people say about their age, location and situation is not. Our safety and consent page explains what that means in practice.
Step three: read and reply
To read and reply to messages you need a membership. Plans and their prices are shown in the members area before you pay, and our prices page explains how billing works. Memberships renew automatically until you turn renewal off in Settings > Billing.
Before you pay, note the billing name shown at checkout: that's the name to look for on your card statement. Optional extras are sold separately, such as profile boosts, priority messages and an ID badge that shows a member matched a photo ID to a selfie through the verification provider LEM Verify. None of them is needed to use the site.

Who else can see your profile?
Members of partner sites in the same network can see your profile and message you. Granny Slags is one of a network of dating sites that share one member database, so the pool is wider than this site alone, and someone who writes to you may have joined somewhere else.
That's useful if you'd like more choice, and it's worth remembering when you choose photos or describe where you live: write as if people beyond this site will read it, because they may.
What happens before you meet
Nothing happens offline unless you both want it to. The habits that work: agree what you both want, video call, then meet somewhere public and make your own way there and back. Never send money to someone you haven't met, whatever the reason.
Our age-gap guide covers expectations and discretion, and the meeting-safely checklist covers the first date itself.
Pausing, leaving or starting again
You can stop paying and keep your profile, or remove everything. To stop paying, turn off renewal in Settings > Billing. To remove your profile completely, open your avatar menu and choose Settings > Delete Account. Doing one doesn't do the other, so if you want both, do both.
If you're locked out, our log-in help page explains password resets and where to get help.
Questions people ask
Is Granny Slags free?
Partly. Signing up, building a profile and browsing other members cost nothing, with no time limit, so you can see who's about before deciding anything. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership, and so do extras such as seeing who viewed you. Free members also see adverts. Plans and their prices are shown in the members area before you pay.
Can people on other sites see my profile?
Yes. Granny Slags shares one member database with partner sites in the same network, so people who joined through those sites can see your profile and message you, and you can see theirs. That's why someone might mention a different site name. Write your profile and choose your photos on the assumption that it will be read more widely than this site alone.
Do I have to be over 60 to join?
No. Anyone aged 18 or over can join, and the members area cannot restrict sign-ups by age band. The site and its guides are written around people over 60, especially older women, and the adults of any age who'd like to meet them. You choose the age range you're interested in on your own profile, so you only browse the people you want to.
Is my membership taken automatically every month?
Memberships renew automatically at the end of each period until you switch renewal off in Settings > Billing, and that includes introductory trials, which roll into a regular plan. If you only want one period, turn renewal off straight after paying. Cancelling renewal doesn't delete your profile; for that, open your avatar menu and choose Settings > Delete Account.
