Privacy policy

By the Granny Slags editorial teamUpdated · 3 min read

This notice covers the Granny Slags information website at www.grannyslags.com. It does not cover the members area, where you join, build a profile and message other members. The members area has its own privacy policy, which you should read before joining.

Who is responsible

This website is run by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA. Ambervine Inc is the data controller for the personal data processed through this website.

What this website collects

This is a static information site. It has no accounts, no comments and no forms that store your details on this website.

  • No cookies. This website sets no cookies.
  • No tracking or advertising. It runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and no social media pixels.
  • Server logs. The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers record technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working properly, for example to spot attacks and fix errors.

If you type your email into a join box

Some pages have a join box. If you enter your email address there, it is sent straight to the members area at members.grannyslags.com so you can start creating an account. From that point it is handled under the members area privacy policy, not this notice. This website does not keep a copy.

Profiles and the partner network

Anything you put in a profile is handled in the members area, not by this website. It's worth knowing before you join that Granny Slags shares one member network with partner sites, so members of those sites can see your profile and message you. How Granny Slags works explains this in more detail.

Why we process data

We process server log data because we have a legitimate interest in keeping this website secure, available and working properly. We don't use it to profile you, and we don't sell it.

How long logs are kept

Server logs are kept by our host for a limited period for security and operational purposes, then deleted in line with the host's retention settings.

Where data is processed

Our host may process log data in the United States and other countries. Where UK or EU data protection law applies to a transfer, we rely on the safeguards that law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. Under UK GDPR and the EU GDPR these include the right to access it, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict its use, and complain to a regulator. Several US states give similar rights, and Australia's privacy law gives rights of access and correction. Because this website collects so little, there is usually very little to provide, but you can still ask.

To make a request about this website, contact us through the members help centre and say that your request concerns the information website. For data held in the members area, the members area privacy policy explains how to make a request.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to your data protection regulator:

Age

This website is for adults. Granny Slags membership is for people aged 18 and over.

Changes to this notice

If we change how this website handles data, for example by adding analytics, we'll update this notice and the date below before the change takes effect. Our terms of use cover the rest of how this website may be used, and the facts page summarises the essentials.
