In short
Granny Slags is free to join, make a profile and browse. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership, shown with its price in the members area before you pay. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. Check the billing name shown at checkout before you pay.

What you can do without paying
You can sign up, make a profile and browse other members without paying anything, and there's no time limit on that. It's a sensible way to see whether the people here suit you before you spend a penny.
What a membership adds
A membership is what lets you hold a conversation: reading and replying to messages needs one. There is more than one plan, sometimes including a short introductory trial, and the members area shows the exact price of each, and what any trial renews at, before you confirm payment.
| Feature | Free | Paid membership |
|---|---|---|
| Join, make a profile, add photos | Yes | Yes |
| Browse other members | Yes | Yes |
| Read and reply to messages | No | Yes |
| Read receipts, see who viewed you, likes | No | Yes |
| View photos in full | No | Yes |
Free members also see adverts.

| Read and reply to messages | Paid membership (weekly and monthly plans) |
| Optional extras | Such as profile boosts and an ID-verified badge |
The members area shows the exact price of each plan before you pay. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. Check the price and billing details at checkout before you pay.
Optional extras are sold separately, such as profile boosts and an ID badge, which shows a member matched a photo ID to a selfie. None of them is needed to use the site. The badge is useful but it isn't a guarantee of anyone's intentions; our safety page explains why.
Before you pay: a short checklist
A minute at checkout saves most billing surprises later.
- Check the plan length and price, including what any trial renews at.
- Check the currency. If you're paying from the UK, Ireland or Australia and the charge is in another currency, your card provider may add a fee.
- Note the billing name shown at checkout, so you'll recognise it on your statement.
- Decide now whether you want it to renew. If not, turn renewal off as soon as you've paid.
- Read the member terms if refunds matter to you; they set out the rules.
Renewal: the bit to watch
Every membership renews automatically at the end of its period until you cancel. That includes trials, which roll into a regular plan. If you only want one period, turn renewal off straight after you pay: go to Settings > Billing in the members area. Put a reminder in your diary a couple of days before the end date if you'd rather decide then.
What appears on your statement
Payments are taken under the billing name shown at checkout, which may not be the Granny Slags name. Note it before you pay, especially if you share a bank account or card. If you see a charge you don't recognise, ask the members help centre to check it against your account before you dispute it with your bank. Our age-gap guide has more on agreeing discretion with the people you meet.
Cancelling and closing your account
Cancelling and deleting are two separate steps, and you may want both.
- Stop future payments: Settings > Billing, then turn off renewal.
- Delete your profile: open your avatar menu, then Settings > Delete Account.
- Locked out or a billing question: the members help centre; our log-in help page has the details.
Deleting your account doesn't automatically mean a refund, and cancelling renewal doesn't delete your profile. More on how the site works is on How Granny Slags works, and the essentials are on the facts page.
Be wary of anyone who wants paying another way
Membership is paid for at checkout in the members area, where you can see the price first. Nobody genuine, member or otherwise, will ask you to pay for a membership, a "verification" or anything else by bank transfer, gift card or crypto. If that happens, it's a scam: stop replying and report the profile. Our romance scams guide shows how those requests usually arrive.
Questions people ask
Is Granny Slags free?
Partly. Joining, making a profile and browsing other members are free, with no time limit. Reading and replying to messages, along with a few other features such as seeing who viewed you, need a paid membership. The members area shows each plan's price before you pay.
Is there a free trial?
Joining and browsing are free for as long as you like, which works as a trial of who's here. Any paid trial offer is shown in the members area with its price and what it renews at before you pay. Trials renew into a regular plan unless you cancel.
Will I be charged again automatically?
Yes. Every membership renews at the end of its period until you turn renewal off in Settings > Billing. If you only want one period, turn it off straight after paying, while it's fresh in your mind.
What name will appear on my statement?
Look for the billing name shown at checkout, and note it before you pay, because it may not say Granny Slags. If you see a charge you don't recognise, the members help centre can confirm whether it's from your account before you contact your bank.
Does deleting my account cancel my membership?
Treat them as two separate steps. Turn off renewal in Settings > Billing first, then delete your profile from your avatar menu under Settings > Delete Account. Doing both, in that order, is the clean way to leave.
